Kearneys Spring

Kearneys Spring is a residential suburb of the 1970′s, 2km south of central Toowoomba.
Around the district water came to the surface in springs such as Kearneys Spring, and it was
these waterways that formed the moist landscape which originally drew European settlers to
Toowoomba.

The spring itself is on Crown land and forms part of the headwaters of the Gowrie Creek.
Kearneys Spring Historical Park is located on Spring Street and was developed by the
Toowoomba City Council. The site was the city’s first water supply from over a century ago.

The suburb contains small shopping centres, a larger shopping complex and Christian Outreach
College. There are walkways, bikeways, sports fields and parks. The suburb is an excellent
family location being close to public amenities and well serviced by public transport.
